Popular actor Jimoh Aliu dies at 85 years

Veteran Yoruba actor Jimoh Aliu has kicked the bucket yesterday. Aliu celebrated his 85th birthday last year.

He featured in Many Yoruba films since the 80’s upto early 20’s. ‘Fopomoyo’ & ‘Yanpan Yarin’ are among his most popular movies.

The actor was born on 11th of November, 1939 in Okemesi-Ekiti. He began acting in 1959 after joining Akin Ogungbe Theatre Group and left in 1966 to form his own troupe, Jimoh Aliu Concert Party, in Ikare, Ondo State.

He was the former president of the association of Nigeria theatre practitioners. He was also a dramitist, a film writer & a director.

Before his died, he was working on producing one of his five movie projects Olowo Ite. The movie is expected to feature veteran Nollywood actors.
