It has been confirmed that Paramount Network has confirmed that Kevin Costner’s show will continue through 2021 (at the very least).
It may have seemed like it’s been an eternity since you spent a night with the Dutton family, but we’re rest assured that the wait is well worth it: Yellowstone has already been picked up for a fourth season, which means you have at least two more years of new episodes coming your way. Even though the third season is just starting up on Paramount Network, we have lots of details about what’s ahead for Kevin Costner’s modern-day ranching drama in season 4. Spoiler alert: There’s plenty of Dutton-level drama on the way.
Yellowstone season 4 release Date
Months before the season 3 premiere, Paramount Network confirmed that their hit ranching drama isn’t ending anytime soon: The network signed a deal with Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, to work on new projects, including the fourth season of the popular Paramount Network show. The third season is set to debut on Sunday, June 21, which means it’s likely that season 4 will premiere in June 2021. Keep in mind that filming may be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, which may push back the season 4 release. Either way, we have at least two more years of Yellowstone to look forward to!
What will Yellowstone season 4 be about?
Given that the third season is still underway, it’s hard to predict what season 4 will bring. Here’s one thing we know for sure: The fourth season will be just as dramatic as ever. Along the way, fans will hopefully get answers to their most sought-after questions, including why Jamie hates Beth so much. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, teased that they’re “doing some things in season 3 that have never been on television before.” The same can be said for season 4: “It’s really just a lot more of the ‘Don’t mess with the Duttons’ attitude,” he told Good Housekeeping.
Will the entire cast, including Kevin Costner, return?
At this point, it seems like the entire Yellowstone crew is on board for the fourth season. Costner, who plays John Dutton and executive produces the show, remains the backbone of the series. In the past, he’s said that filming a scripted how “hasn’t been an easy adjustment” for him, but he’s committed because he believes Yellowstone has “gold dust on it.”
Unless there are any major character changes in season 3, it seems like Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Forrie J. Smith, and Denim Richards will return for a fourth season, too. Only time will tell if newcomers Josh Holloway, John Emmet Tracey, Q’orianka Kilcher, and Jennifer Landon will survive the chaos on Dutton family ranch.
