The Power of the Dog is an upcoming drama film based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Savage.
The story of the book is set in 1920s Montana and involves the Burbank brothers, George and Phil. When George unexpectedly falls in love with and soon marries a young widow, he brings her to live with him and his brother on their ranch. Their lives are forever altered when Phil sets his mind to destroy his brother’s new wife. He finds, though, that the bride has an unforeseen and unexpected protector.
Whether or not the movie will follow the exact storyline of the book remains currently undetermined. But we do know that since the movie is based on the book, it will follow a more or less similar story.
When It’s Coming
Filming set off in New Zealand on the tenth of January this year. It was forced to come to a halt by the second of April, though, due to the widespread coronavirus pandemic crisis that forced filming and productions to stop all over the globe. As of the 22nd of June filming had resumed.
There isn’t a definitive and clear exact time frame for when the movie is due to be released, but sources claim that 2021 will be the year. We sure hope this stands! And with the fantastic cast, we just can’t wait!
