Senegalese fashion designer Diarra Blu who is one of the top 10 finalist for Jack Ma’s Philanthropic Africa Business Heroes competition has emerged winner of the 24-hour Twitter challenge to create a hashtag that shows how the designers work aligns with one of the UN Sustainable Development goals as well as how much the community believes in her brand on social media.
The task was to ensure that the top 10 finalist whose hashtag went the most viral in 24-hours would win the challenge and Diarra Blu received over 8285 tweets and 11 million impressions.
“This makes me so proud and grateful to everyone who supported us. My heart is so full of love. The competition continues and in November the grand finale will take place and the TOP 3 will be revealed. Praying we keep making you all proud. All of us 10 finalists will be awarded a share of the $1.5 million and the top 3 will have the largest share,” Diarra said.
The 10 finalists and 4 judges are working on a 5-episode TV series that will air in November to show the lives of the top 10 African entrepreneurs and the journey in this competition.
