Beyoncé demands Justice for Breonna Taylor in an open letter to Kentucky’s Attorney General

Justice for Breonna Taylor who was shot eight times and killed in her sleep by the police in Kentucky, Us on March 13 by Beyoncé in a letter to the Attorney General, Daniel Cameron.

The Three Officers involved- Jon Matingly, Myles Cosgrove and Brett Hankison have not been arrested or charged over Breonna Taylor’s death, rather they’ve been placed on administrative leave. Investigations are still ongoing.

In Beyoncé’s letter, She wrote “three months have passed and Breonna Taylor’s family still awaits Justice. The legislation represented small steps in the right direction but it’s a painful reminder that there was still no justice for Breonna Taylor.”

She ended her letter by making three specific demands. She Urged the Kentucky Attorney General to “ demonstrate the value of a black woman” by bringing criminal charges against the three officers involved in Breonna Taylor’s killing, by committing itself to transparency in the investigation and prosecution of the officers, and by investigating the response of Louisville police to the shooting. Don’t let this Case fall into the pattern of no action after a terrible tragedy.”

The words of a Black woman.
